These are illustrations by Bruce Timm, they are taken from one of his comics 'Batman:Harley and Ivy'. There are many different Batman comics and different styles from numerous artists, but my favourite style has to be that of Bruce Timm's, he has a particular style, very minimalistic and angular. The reason I have chosen this is because I am a big fan of Batman comic books, and this style in particular is how I would like my own work to look. This is a scanned image from the inside of the comic book:
These images are screenshots from the Cravendale Milk stopmotion advertisment, I chose this because I find this advert funny, and the characters used, a Pirate, a Cow and a bicyclist, resemble cheap toy figurines, but in my opinion make the advert even funnier.
Fafi Girls, I chose this because I like the use of pen markings, the Artist, Fafi, who origonally started of as a graffitti artist, has said 'I draw with a simple pencil and Bic pen. Then usually I add colour with my laptop'.
I like the style that Joshua Middleton uses, his characters are more life like than "cartoony". These are some illustrations from the comic book series 'NYX', I chose these illustrations because I have the series of NYX and have always admired the drawings.

Tokyopop is a distributor of manga, this is its logo. Its mininalistic and bold, I like the type used and the vector character.

This is the latest logo for DC comics, although I liked the older one, which was more oldschool, this one is more modern and somewhat nicer to look at.

These are the designs of the video game 'Loco Roco', I love the designs, everything in the game has no outline which makes a change to other games, also the colours are all very bright and block colours which I like.

Heres two examples of logos I do and do not like. Both of them are for the 2008 Olympics, one for London and another for Bejing. I do not like the London one as it does seem to represent anything, wereas the Bejing has an image of someone running which is more relevant. I also don't like the colours used for the London olympics logo, again because it doesnt seem to represent anything.
I think the Bejing logo works better because it has more relevants to the olympics. The image of the person running, the colour red which I persume indicates China, or luck, maybe even both, and even the font used for the text suits the theme.
